In Midtown, there are 72 acres of taxable land (excludes churches, municipal streets/sidewalks, and Vanderbilt University) with over 1,846,000 sq. ft. of taxable improvements (buildings). This translates to an average of 25,530 sq. ft. of improvements per acre. There are 214 properties (excluding churches and Vanderbilt University) in midtown translating to an average of 8,626 sq. ft. per property. These figures do not include properties on the north side of West End since those properties were not part of the MBAN boundary until June. They will be added in the next report.

Real estate market continues it's vibrant activities in Midtown. Thus far this year, there were at least four property sales. Lease transactions continue to be active in both retail and office sectors with handful of new retail businesses entering Midtown and several closings. Some of the new retail/restaurant businesses are highlighted with articles. FrankGrassanti Italian Restaurant, Atlanta Bread Company, Ben & Jerry's, Red Door Saloon, Mellow Mushroom, Executive Club, Zoe's Chicken, Baja Burrito, and the Tree House at South Street are all new additions to Midtown this year.
